Meet the host, Monte A. Jones

Monte A. Jones serves as the dynamic President and Chief Executive Officer of the Logan Heights Community Development Corporation, a position he has held since 2006. With over two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, Monte has demonstrated a commitment to equitable and sustainable community development. His focus extends to identifying and nurturing community-based leadership, enhancing health and educational outcomes for communities of color, and fostering innovative partnerships between the private and public sectors.

Prior to joining Logan Heights CDC, Monte proudly served for 20 years in the US Navy. His civic engagement experience includes roles on the City of San Diego Citizens Equal Opportunity Commission, Chollas Valley Planning Group, and as Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, San Diego Chapter. Currently, Monte currently serves on the Board of Directors for California Coast Credit Union.

Monte holds both a bachelor’s and a Master of Business Administration degree as well as various nonprofit and leadership certificates, including those from the University of San Diego Nonprofit Institute, the Fieldstone Foundation Executive Learning Group, the Harvard Divinity School Executive Management Program for Community Development, the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy Fundraising Academy, and the 2000 LEAD San Diego Program.
